I'm a citizen naturalist, frequently urban-bound, expanding my world through lens refraction. Nature and wildlife drive my photographic passions ... especially nature in the city. I'm drawn to themes of reclamation and restoration, where wildlife exists -- or even manages to thrive -- on the city beat -- on the pulses of its own Wild Beat.

Now is this a public sign posted by Homo sapiens? I thought they liked hunters! May my cynical comment help in any way…Great photo by the way.
Funny, Maria. For the Red-tailed Hawk, at least, signs were of no consequence.
What a crazy bunch of signs and gorgeous Red-tailed. Mixed messages is right!
Mia, I’m anxious to visit this area at least one more time this winter, when I might have time to photograph more than we did on this trip. In the same zone, many Bald Eagles were playing and performing aerobatics over a nearby field. I imagine if I spent the day, I could wait it out until the antics were close enough for good images.
Dan and Tom must be the only ones allowed to hunt.
Or … Dan and Tom can use as many shells as they like in this “no hunting,” 15-shell limit hunting area.
